Acupuncture in Bath

Personalised acupuncture that begins with listening carefully, understanding the wider picture and tailoring treatment to you.

Acupuncture has its roots in East Asian medicine and involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, single-use needles at carefully selected points on the body.

No two people arrive with exactly the same story. I take time to understand what you are experiencing, your health history and what may be influencing how you feel. Your treatment is then planned around you—not simply around the name of a condition.

My training incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element acupuncture, alongside further training in neurological, sports and scalp acupuncture. Where appropriate, I may also discuss practical aspects of nutrition and lifestyle, while working alongside any conventional healthcare you are receiving.

A thoughtful, individual approach

What treatment may involve

Each appointment begins with a conversation about how you have been feeling and anything that has changed since your previous visit. I may also use traditional diagnostic methods, including observing the tongue and feeling the pulse, to help guide your treatment.

Depending on your individual needs, treatment may include body acupuncture, scalp or auricular points, electroacupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha or gentle acupressure. I will always explain what I am recommending so that you can decide what feels comfortable for you.

Once the needles are in place, you will usually have time to rest quietly. Many people find this part of the appointment calm and unhurried.

What to expect

Before you come

Please eat normally before your appointment and wear loose, comfortable clothing where possible. Bring details of any medication, supplements and relevant medical information.

Your first appointment

Your initial appointment lasts approximately 90 minutes. We will discuss your current concerns, health history and the wider factors that may be affecting how you feel. This is followed by an acupuncture treatment tailored to you.

Follow-up appointments

Follow-up appointments include time to review how you have been since your previous visit and adapt your treatment accordingly. The recommended frequency will depend on your individual circumstances, and there is no requirement to commit to a fixed course.
